REDEFINED SUGAR MANUFACTURING

Davangere Sugar Company Limited is located at Kukkuwada, Davangere District of Karnataka State. The company was incorporated on 28.09.1970 for putting up a Sugar Mill with a capacity of 1250Tons of Cane per Day. The Sugar Factory was commissioned with its maiden cane crushing on 28.10.1974. Over the years the factory went into expansion of Cane Crushing capacity in stages from 1250 TCD to 3500 TCD. The Company commissioned its Co-gen power plant with a capacity of 24.45 MWs on 24.03.2004.

The present capacity of the sugar plant is 5,000 TCD. The capacity of the sugar plant expanded from 3500 TCD to 5000 TCD in the year 2012. The total sugar unit buildings covers an area of about 2,83,874 Sq.fts. Three big go-down facilities are in existence for storage of sugar with a capacity to store 1,00,000 Qtls to 1,50,000 Qtls. A separate building is there for storage of spares, components, and other raw materials required for the production of sugar. A well equipped ETP system is in existence for treatment of effluents. The other utility building like canteen, quarters for the Officers and workers, rest house for the farmers etc is provided in the site.Provision is made for a SBM ATM center. The State Bank of Mysore Branch is situated nearby factory to facilitate banking service to the company.
Further two go-downs with a capacity to store 100,000 Qtls and 1,75,000 Qtls of sugar are under construction expected to be completed by June, 2014.
