The Evolution of our Business Model

1970

Inception

Established as a joint sector company in collaboration with Karnataka Agro Industries Corporation Limited and financial institutions, DSCL embarked on its journey to contribute to India's sugar industry.

1974

Commencement of Operations

The company commenced commercial production with an initial sugarcane crushing capacity of 1,250 tonnes per day (TCD), laying the foundation for its future endeavors.

1995-96

Acquisition by Shamanur Group

A significant turning point occurred when the Shamanur Group acquired DSCL, ushering in a new era of growth and transformation under visionary leadership.

2004

Expansion into Co-Generation

Demonstrating a commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency, DSCL commissioned a 24.45 MW co-generation power plant, utilizing by-products to generate renewable energy.

2012

Capacity Enhancement

The company expanded its sugarcane crushing capacity to 4,750 TCD and commissioned a 500 TCD refined sugar manufacturing unit, enhancing its production capabilities and product quality.

2022

Foray into Ethanol Production

Aligning with national initiatives for ethanol blending, DSCL successfully commissioned a 65 KLPD ethanol plant, marking its entry into the biofuel sector.

2024

Further Expansion

The company initiated the expansion of its ethanol plant to 110 KLPD and launched a CO₂ recovery plant project, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility.
